Local Attractions
Shelter Valley Campground is located minutes from the town of Goderich, better known as "The Prettiest Town in Canada." Goderich sits on the shores of Lake Huron and includes one of the busiest and biggest commercial harbours on Lake Huron where you can see yachts and fishing boats sharing the waterfront with lake freighters and ocean vessels.
If you are interested in lake fishing, swimming, windsurfing or just a leisurely stroll along the water's edge, you will enjoy Goderich. There are three beautiful sandy beaches which rate among the finest in the province.
The waterfront beaches offer grassy areas, shade trees with picnic tables, miles of boardwalks, large well-equipped playgrounds, concession booths, and shallow water ideal for swimmers of all ages. A water park and play ground are also available in Goderich. Maitland Recreation Centre (YMCA)offers a fitness centre and indoor pool.
Sightseeing opportunities in Goderich are endless with three museums, numerous antique and specialty shops, and a most unique downtown area. Goderich hosts numerous summer events that are a must-see including the Festival of Arts & Crafts, Celtic Roots Festival and the Canada Day Parade & Celebrations, which are highlighted by fantastic fireworks over the lake.

Clinton offers a racetrack and casino and is the home of the REACH Regional Equine and Agricultural Center of Huron. The Clinton Spring Fair, Pluckin' Fest and the Scarecrow Festival. Nearby is the Hullett Provincial Wildlife Area which offers a wildlife reserve for outdoor enthusiasts.
Clinton also has a Recreation Centre with fitness equipment available(YMCA). There is also a skateboard park.
Several challenging and scenic golf courses are nearby. There are three outstanding theatres in the area. The Huron County Playhouse in Grand Bend, Blyth Festival Theatre in Blyth and Town Hall Theatre in Wingham, offering some of the best in summer stock theatre and music.
