
OVERNIGHT RULES & REGULATIONS
EMERGENCIES
- In the event of an emergency, accident, fire, call 9-1-1 (phones at store, pool house and shop) and notify park staff immediately
- In the event of a tornado or severe weather, our emergency meeting area is in the garage of the owners residence or any washroom building
- Emergency phone numbers and instructions are posted on the laundry room window, at pool pump house, at the store bulletin board, and at the horseshoe pits with detailed instructions
- A first aid kit is available in the camp store and at the pool house
CAMPING FEES
- In order to reserve a site, we require a non-refundable $5 reservation fee plus deposit of the first night stay at the time of booking
- Upon arrival, the office accepts cash, debit, visa or mastercard for the remaining balance of the camping fees
- Camping rates per site are for 2 adults and their dependent children under 18 years of age and 1 vehicle OR 4 adults and 1 vehicle
- Additional vehicles are subject to the parking rate of $5/night and are required to park in designated visitor parking areas only
- All visitors must register and pay the applicable visitor fees ($5/adult/day or $10/adult/night) (Day visitors must leave the park by 11:00 PM)
LONG WEEKENDS
- A minimum of 3 nights is required when booking for any long weekends (except Thanksgiving)
- Fee must be paid in full at time of booking via credit card
CHECK IN/OUT
- Check in is between 2:00 PM to 9:00PM (Thurs-Sat) or 8:00PM (Sun-Wed). Check out is 11:00 AM
- Early check in or late check out will result in day pass charges being added to your camping fees
CANCELLATIONS
- Refund granted up to 14 days prior to arrival (less $5 reservation fee, $10 for long weekends)
- Cancellations less than 14 days prior to arrival will result in the cost of 1 night’s camping fee + reservation fee
ENTRANCE GATE
- A security gate card may be obtained for a $25 deposit and will be refunded upon its return, in good condition, at check out
- If you or your guests return to the park after office hours, and do not have a gate card, you/they must park your/their vehicle outside the gate
USE + OCCUPANCY
- Upon departure ensure the site is left as it was found (ex. garbage, cig butts, etc) If not, a $50 charge will be applied to your credit card
- One picnic table and one approved fire pit is provided per campsite
- Campfires must be attended by an adult at all times, and be extinguished before leaving the campsite or retiring for the night
- Cutting or damaging trees or bushes in the park and surrounding area(s) will be cause for immediate eviction without refund
- Park Management assumes no responsibility for accidents, injuries, or loss of property
- Please obey all posted NO TRESPASSING signs
FIREWOOD
- ABSOLUTLY NO OUTSIDE FIREWOOD. Firewood can be purchased from the camp store. Please help us to protect our trees.
QUIET HOURS
- Quiet hours are from 11:00 PM to 9:00 AM daily
- Music and conversation should be kept at a reasonable level “for your site only” at all times
- Loud vehicles such as motorcycles, diesel trucks, etc., are to be parked during quiet time hours
- All overnight campsites are subject to a $150/site noise deposit/charge if Management determines your site occupants were too loud or badly behaved during the duration of your stay
ALCOHOL
- NO WALKING AROUND THE PARK WITH OPEN ALCOHOL! Alcoholic beverages may be transported between locations in the park in a carrying bag/cooler. Any open alcohol between sites will result in confiscation of those beverages
- Alcohol must be covered and/or in an unbreakable container (NO GLASS BOTTLES, CANS ONLY)
- Excessive drinking and/or unruly behaviour will not be tolerated and will result in immediate eviction without refund
- Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the pool enclosure
PETS
- Maximum 2 leashed pets per site
- Poop + scoop throughout park; Please place poop bags in the garbage dumpster near the entry gate to avoid bad odor around buildings
- Do not leave your pet(s) unattended
- Please control any noise (ex. barking)
- Please keep pets out of all public buildings/areas including Rec Hall, Camp Store, washrooms, rental cabin, pool area, and playground equipment
GARBAGE
- Garbage(red) and recycling(blue) dumpsters are located just outside the park gate on the left
- You must use CLEAR garbage bags
- Do not leave garbage in your fire pit
- Please recycle cans, plastics, glass, and alcohol empties in bins provided
- Cigarette butts are not to be discarded on the ground anywhere in the park
PROHIBITED
- The use of drones inside the park is strictly prohibited.
- Motorcycle owners who are registered tenants may drive their motorcycle to their designated campsite only
- Motorized pleasure vehicles such as quads, dirt bikes, etc. are prohibited inside the park
- Fireworks/fire crackers, firearms, pellet or air guns, sling shots and bows and arrows, or shooting of any kind are prohibited
POOL
- Pool is to be used at your own risk between 9:00 AM and dusk (daily)
- No lifeguards on duty at the pool
- Shelter Valley Campground accepts no liability for accidents or injuries that occur in the pool enclosure
- Smoking, gum chewing, footwear, or breakable beverage containers are not permitted in the pool enclosure
- No food or drinks in the pool enclosure
- Pool phone is for emergency use only
- Failure to obey pool rules (posted at the pool), will result in eviction from the pool
- All children 12 years and under must be accompanied by an adult or a delegate of 16 years of age or older
- Adult Swim Times (18+ yrs) is from 9:00AM - 10:00AM daily, children must leave the pool area during this time
- Diving in the pool is not permitted
SAFETY
- Adult supervision is essential for children at all times
- All children and teenagers must be on their campsite or accompanied by an adult after dark
- Playground equipment is not to be used after dark
- The SPEED LIMIT IS 10KM/H in the park, and 20 km/h outside the gate and applies to all vehicles and bicycles, failure to obey the speed limit may result in loss of driving privileges
BICYCLES
- Bicycle riding is permitted on park roadways only and is not permitted after dusk
- Helmets are to be worn by all bicycle riders under 16 years of age
- Parents are responsible for the safety of their own children regarding the use of safety equipment
- No riding bicycles on the road between the speed bump and the front gate. Please walk your bike through this area
TRAILS
- Hiking trails are used at your own risk and are for hiking only; please remain on the pathways to protect the natural flora
- Do not litter
